Symposium Goals: Addressing Cultural, Methodological and Technological Challenges

The symposium is aiming at presenting the unique methodological approach and the R&D process of the iClass project. It will also present the product of this approach and process, its design, and the pilot-level implementation of some of its major features.

The focus of the symposium will be a discussion of the cultural, methodological and technological challenges to which iClass responds. The emphasis will be on the challenges and the consortium’s systematic process rather than the answers it gives.

We believe that they should serve as a proof of feasibility of such a systematic integrative thinking, and its productivity and contribution as a first step toward enhancing the relevant discourse – they certainly cannot be presented as the conclusive view or final outcome development. Thus, the presentation of iClass will be embedded in the context of the major cultural, theoretical, methodological and technological design oriented challenges with which we have struggled.
