Prof. Avi Assor

Avi Assor is Associate Professor and former head of the educational and school psychology program in Ben Gurion University, Israel. His research focuses on processes affecting children's autonomous internalization of values endorsed by parents and educators. In addition, is involved in the development and assessment of school reforms seeking to support students and teachers' needs for autonomy, relatedness and competence, as well as their intrinsic motivation and caring for others. Avi also studies processes of emotion regulation and their effects on social relationships. He has published in journals such as Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Child Development, Journal of Educational Psychology, Journal of Personality, Journal of Educational Administration, Curriculum Inquiry, and Learning and Instruction.
